Glycopeel

Peeling season is here! Fall is the perfect time to give your skin a solid refresh. Remove dead skin cells, address pigmentation spots and reduce scars and wrinkles with the Glycopeel treatment of Lanèche.
Refresh
Glycolic acid falls under the group of "fruit acids," also called AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids). Other types of fruit acids include lactic acid (yes, really!), malic acid and salicylic acid.
Several independent studies have examined and demonstrated the action and effectiveness of glycolic acid. So there is no need to doubt the action and positive effect of glycolic acid on the skin, it has been proven beyond dispute!
Glycolic acid first of all removes dead skin cells, this is also called exfoliation. The accumulation of dead skin cells causes the skin to become dull and drab and increases the likelihood of developing impurities and flakes. The key to smooth, fresh and radiant skin is exfoliation. And aging skin in particular, and by that we mean as early as 30+, could use some help with this!
But that's not all because exfoliation can of course also be done with a regular scrub or peeling.
Glycolic acid also stimulates cell renewal and the production of collagen and elastin in the skin. And that is exactly what causes fine lines, wrinkles, scars and pigment spots to fade.
The Treatment
Make sure the nutrilizer is ready before you begin treatment. This can be found in the treatment box of the Glycopeel package.
The treatment starts with a normal cleansing and deep cleansing. Does the client have a (very) sensitive skin? Then skip the deep cleansing and proceed directly with the application of the glycolic acid. Make sure the eyes are well protected.
Apply the glycolic acid evenly to the skin with two (long) cotton swabs. Continue to rotate the cotton swabs over the skin for five minutes. If the client experiences a stinging sensation go over these areas additionally with the cotton swabs.
To stop the action of the glycolic acid, cover the skin with tissues and then dab over the skin with cotton pads soaked in nutrilizer. You will hear a slight hissing sound, this means that the action of the peeling has been neutralized. You calm the skin with the Special Care Calming serum followed by the Hydra Plus gel mask. To finish the treatment you apply the Skin Recovering serum.
It is important that the client takes good care of her skin even after/between treatments. This means that the skin should be taken care of for at least a week with the Skin Recovering serum. The skin should also be protected with an SPF50 cream for at least a month after the last treatment.
Contraindications
The Glycopeel treatment uses a concentration of 50% glycolic acid. In the products for home use, you can choose between 5% or 10% glycolic acid. Especially with sensitive skin, we recommend to prepare the skin before treatment with one of these products. With rosacea, teleangiectastias and active acne, we do not recommend applying a Glycopeel treatment.
The best results
Keep in mind that multiple treatments are needed to achieve the best results. We therefore recommend that the Glycopeel treatment always be offered as a course of treatment. Six to eight treatments at one-week intervals. After that, you can continue with the usual treatment period of 4 to 8 weeks.
And have you ever considered a package price that includes home products? That way you "oblige" the client to take the treatment seriously and take good care of the skin at home as well.
Also, don't forget to take a before picture so you can show the client the difference after the treatment is over!
